UGM Pharmacy Student Team Wins Third Place in Research and Development at Pharmacopeia 2025

Yogyakarta, January 1, 2026 — Students from the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada have once again achieved a notable accomplishment at Pharmacopeia 2025 organized by BEM Kemafar Padjadjaran University (Unpad). Pharmacopeia is a national level competition participated in by students from various universities across Indonesia, including Universitas Gadjah Mada, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Indonesia, and several other institutions. The competition features a wide range of categories aimed at strengthening scientific capacity, innovation, and the application of pharmaceutical sciences. One of the contested categories is Research and Development, which challenges participants to develop systematic, innovative, and academically accountable concepts.

In the Research and Development category, the evaluation criteria include the accuracy of problem background formulation, clarity of objectives, originality and relevance of ideas, logical development methods or stages, and feasibility of implementation. In addition, presentation skills and the team ability to respond to judges questions are also key components in determining the final results. This category serves as a platform for students to develop critical thinking skills, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of development processes in the pharmaceutical field.

At Pharmacopeia 2025, a team from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM consisting of Muhammad Harosan Syadida Jauhar, Khalila Hanun Mahira, Ardipta Feyant Santoso, and Ni Komang Wijayanti Sinta Dewi successfully secured Third Place in the Research and Development category. This achievement is the result of thorough preparation, well structured role distribution, and systematically developed materials supported by strong scientific arguments. Throughout the process, the team gained valuable experience in project management, collaboration, and translating conceptual ideas into applicable development strategies.

This Third Place achievement reflects the contribution of UGM Pharmacy students in fostering a culture of research and innovation within the academic environment. It is expected to motivate other students to actively participate in national scientific competitions, while also encouraging the development of relevant, applicable, and impactful innovations that contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and the improvement of public health.

As a closing, this achievement contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, particularly SDG 3 Good Health and Well being through health related innovation, SDG 9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through research driven development, and SDG 4 Quality Education through the strengthening of academic and research competencies. This accomplishment further highlights the strategic role of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM in advancing impactful and sustainable innovation for society.
