Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) is an annual event held by International Pharmaceutical Student Federation Asia Pacific Office (IPSF APRO), in which over pharmacy students and alumni from many countries in Asia Pacific, such as Korea, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, New Zealand, and others participate to gain and share their knowledge about the pharmaceutical field.
In 2023, the Student Executive Board of Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada (BEM KMFA UGM) has been granted the opportunity to host the 22nd APPS. The Role of Pharmacist in Implementing SDGs After the Pandemic and More is chosen as the main theme in hopes of positively influencing the future pharmaceutical work fields, including community, hospital, industry, and traditional medicine by helping aspiring pharmacists to discover their interests and talent according to their desired field.
APPS 2023 is currently happening, starting on the 3rd of July and will proceed until the 9th of July. An approximate of 100 delegates, coming from all around Asia Pacific, has been exposed to various insightful sessions, including symposiums, and workshops and competitions. The APPS 2023 committee also puts an effort in introducing Indonesian culture to the international delegates through social events, like Local Food Fest and Indonesian Night.
Summer Course 2023 will be held for 3 weeks from July 3-21, 2023. This year, we have designed a blended learning experience that combines convenience with hands-on activities. Let us take you through the highlights of our program:
During the first week, students will have the opportunity to participate in asynchronous meetings on our MOOC platform. This flexibility allows you to study at your own pace and convenience, ensuring a comfortable learning environment.
In the second week, we have lined up a special online meeting featuring expert speakers. This engaging session will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. It's an excellent chance to delve deeper into the course material and interact directly with our esteemed speakers.
In the third week, we are thrilled to invite you to join us onsite. Here, you will engage in hands-on practice and learn the art of making traditional cosmetics firsthand. We have also planned an insightful field trip to further enhance your understanding of the practical application of what you've learned.
This year's program will focus on science-based cosmetics, covering a wide range of topics, including basic knowledge, cosmetic research and development, cosmetic regulations, and cosmetic business innovation. We firmly believe that this unique program will offer you an invaluable experience, combining the convenience of blended learning with the excitement of in-person activities.

The Faculty of Pharmacy of Universitas Gadjah Mada has routinely organized summer courses since 2016, and successfully brought together participants and speakers from around the world. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions in international mobility, it is currently organized as an online summer course.
