Two Scientific Journals from UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Indexed by Scopus

Pharmacy UGM — The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has achieved another proud milestone, as two of its scientific journals—Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy (IJP) and Majalah Obat Tradisional (MOT)—have gained international recognition through their indexation in Scopus and an increase in their SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) scores in early 2025.

The Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy, which has been indexed in Scopus since 2018, has improved its ranking and now sits in the Q3 quartile, with an SJR score of 0.203 and an H-index of 12. Meanwhile, Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy has achieved its first inclusion in Scopus, listed in the Q4 quartile with an SJR score of 0.148 and an H-index of 7. The journal highlights research rooted in local wisdom and traditional medicine practices.

Dr. Marlyn Dian Laksitorini, Editor-in-Chief of the Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy, expressed her gratitude for the collective effort that made this possible. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our editors, reviewers, authors, and the entire team. We hope these journals continue to serve as vital references in advancing pharmaceutical sciences and traditional medicine research on a global scale,” she said.

These accomplishments are expected to enhance the journals’ role in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the dissemination of research in pharmacy, healthcare, and natural-based medicines. Furthermore, the active involvement of academics in managing and publishing scientific journals contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education), especially in research and innovation, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

This recognition further strengthens the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s role as a leading contributor to scientific advancement and the publication of internationally recognized research. (Rizqi Vazrin/HumasFA)
