Yogyakarta, June 23, 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), organized the Faculty of Pharmacy Curriculum Review Workshop on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) at the APSLC Auditorium, 8th Floor. The event, held from 08.00 to 15.00 WIB, was part of the faculty’s ongoing commitment to institutional evaluation and continuous improvement, ensuring that its curriculum remains relevant to scientific advancements, industry needs, and developments in higher education regulations.
The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., highlighted the importance of curriculum renewal in preparing graduates who are adaptive, competent, and capable of addressing emerging challenges in healthcare and pharmaceutical sciences. This was followed by an introductory session delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. apt. Nanang Munif Yasin, M.Pharm., outlined the objectives and strategic direction of the curriculum review process.
The workshop featured several experts from academia and professional practice. The first session discussed global changes and emerging trends in pharmaceutical sciences, presented by Prof. Dr. apt. Daryono Hadi Tjahjono, M.Sc.. The second session focused on updates in higher education regulations, delivered by Dr. Sigit Priyanta, S.Si., M.Kom.. Participants also gained insights into recent developments in hospital pharmacy practice from Dr. apt. Lusy Noviani, MM., and advances in industrial pharmacy from Drs. apt. Pre Agusta Siswantoro, M.B.A.. The plenary discussion and question-and-answer session were facilitated by Dr. apt. Andayana Puspitasari Gani, M.Si., before participants continued with program-specific Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
Throughout the workshop, speakers emphasized the need for a forward-looking curriculum that responds to rapid developments in healthcare technology, pharmaceutical services, research, and industry demands. The discussions also highlighted the importance of equipping students with interdisciplinary competencies, critical thinking skills, and professional adaptability to thrive in an increasingly dynamic healthcare environment.

This initiative reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The curriculum review contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing the quality and relevance of higher education, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by strengthening the preparation of future pharmacists and healthcare professionals, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the integration of scientific innovation and industry developments into educational programs. Furthermore, the collaboration among academics, practitioners, and stakeholders during the workshop supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collective efforts toward sustainable educational development.
