Yogyakarta, 20 August 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has implemented an entrance portal system utilizing the UGM Employee Card as the primary access identification for the past six months. This policy refers to the Dean’s Circular Letter Number 569/UN1/FA/UP/TR.02.02/2025, which was officially enforced on Monday, 17 February 2025, at 07.00 WIB through the South Entrance of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
The implementation of this system represents a strategic step to enhance both security and efficiency of access within the campus environment. All lecturers and administrative staff are required to use their UGM Employee Card as the main entry credential to the faculty area. Furthermore, members of the academic community are strongly advised to maintain the security of their cards, refrain from lending them to others, and promptly report to security personnel in case of loss or technical difficulties.
To support this policy, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM has provided an information service through the Administration Office, which can be contacted should any technical issues arise during the implementation of the system. In this way, the policy not only aims to improve access control but also ensures greater convenience and safety for all lecturers, students, academic staff, and members of the academic community engaged in daily activities at the faculty.
The implementation of the entrance portal system is also aligned with Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The adoption of the UGM Employee Card as an access identification system demonstrates a tangible contribution to the development of a modern, secure, and sustainable campus infrastructure, as reflected in SDG 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure. At the same time, this policy reinforces transparent and accountable institutional governance, in line with SDG 16 on peace, justice, and strong institutions. Through this innovation, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM strives to foster an academic environment that is not only secure but also inclusive.
