Bandung, 5th February, 2026 – A student from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has achieved another outstanding accomplishment at the national level. Fauzia Amrina Rosyada, an undergraduate student in the Pharmacy Study Program, won First Place in the Patient Counseling Event (PCE) Pharmanova ITB 2025/2026, a national competition organized by the Pharmacy Students’ Association (HMF) “Ars Praeparandi” of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). She outperformed participants from numerous public and private universities across Indonesia.
The Patient Counseling Event is one of the flagship competitions in the Pharmanova ITB 2025/2026 series, which carried the theme “Transforming Healthcare and Enhancing Well-Being through Personalized Pharmacy Innovation.” The competition was designed to strengthen pharmacy students’ competencies in patient-centered pharmaceutical care, particularly in patient counseling, medication communication, clinical reasoning, and interprofessional collaboration (IPC) between pharmacists and physicians to optimize pharmacotherapy outcomes.
The competition was held from October 2025 to February 2026 through a combination of online and onsite stages at ITB’s Ganesha Campus. During the preliminary round, participants completed multiple-choice and short essay examinations covering clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical care, patient communication, and clinical decision-making. In the semifinal round, contestants analyzed patient case studies and conducted patient counseling sessions before a panel of judges.
The onsite final round, held on February 5, 2026, presented a more comprehensive challenge. Finalists were required not only to counsel patients but also to collaborate with physicians in analyzing clinical cases and formulating optimal pharmacotherapy strategies. The assessment covered professional ethics, understanding of pharmacists’ roles within healthcare teams, interprofessional communication, teamwork, and the ability to provide comprehensive patient counseling.

Fauzia’s achievement reflects the rigorous academic training, continuous practice, and faculty mentorship provided by the Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM. The competition offered an opportunity to strengthen essential competencies in clinical pharmacy, therapeutic communication, clinical reasoning, and collaborative healthcare practice. This accomplishment also highlights UGM students’ readiness to address the growing demands of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care while further enhancing the university’s reputation at the national level.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM, congratulates Fauzia on this remarkable achievement and hopes that her success will inspire other students to continuously develop their academic and professional competencies while actively participating in national and international pharmacy competitions.
This achievement also reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting high-quality patient-centered healthcare, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through competency-based pharmacy education that prepares future healthcare professionals, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering interprofessional collaboration between pharmacists and physicians to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
