Yogyakarta, June 2026 — Luhur Dian Wajar Sari, a student of the Pharmacist Professional Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), achieved an international milestone after being selected as a grant awardee to attend the ISPE Europe Annual Conference 2026, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 18–22 April 2026. Through this program, Dian represented Indonesia as one of the ISPE Student Representatives alongside selected participants from 21 other countries.

The ISPE Europe Annual Conference is an annual event organized by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), a global professional organization dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical science, engineering, and manufacturing practices. The conference brings together industry leaders, regulators, academics, and professionals from around the world to discuss the latest developments in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality systems, digital transformation, innovation, and the future of healthcare.
Prior to attending the conference, Dian participated in the ISPE Europe Emerging Leaders Hackathon 2026, a two-day international competition that gathered students and young professionals from diverse backgrounds to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges in the pharmaceutical industry. Through a highly competitive selection and evaluation process, Dian successfully advanced to the final round and was selected as one of the finalists of the Emerging Leaders Hackathon 2026.

Following the hackathon, Dian joined the ISPE Europe Annual Conference 2026 as an ISPE Student Representative. During the three-day conference, participants had the opportunity to attend technical sessions, panel discussions, industry exhibitions, and networking events featuring experts and key stakeholders from across the global pharmaceutical sector. The conference provided valuable insights into current industry trends while fostering international collaboration and professional development.
This achievement highlights the ability of UGM Pharmacy students to compete and contribute on the international stage. Beyond gaining academic and professional exposure, participation in global conferences and competitions enables students to bring back new knowledge, perspectives, and experiences that can support the advancement of Indonesia’s pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

This accomplishment also reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through global learning opportunities, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the promotion of innovation and industrial development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the establishment of international networks and collaborations.
