Yogyakarta, September 12, 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy at Gadjah Mada University hosted the Kurkumin × Pharmacious 2026 National Seminar under the theme “Harmonizing Beauty Innovation and Nature through an Integrative Strategy of Technology 5.0 to Optimize the Potential of Herbs.” This event serves as an academic forum to discuss innovations in the beauty industry, emphasizing the utilization of natural ingredients—particularly herbs—combined with technological advancements in the 5.0 era.
This seminar featured Dr. Adhyatmika, Master of Biotechnology, Apt., a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University, as the moderator. The speakers included Nastiti Mustika Rizki Ikhtiarsih, S.Si., as Product Development Executive, and Ani Fatimah Isfarjanti, S.Si., Apt., M.H., as Head of the Central Office of the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (POM). The speakers provided a comprehensive perspective on the development of innovations based on natural ingredients, ranging from product development to the importance of complying with regulations to ensure product safety and quality.
Through presentations and interactive discussions, participants gained insights into the potential of herbal ingredients and opportunities for their development in the beauty industry. The development of Technology 5.0 opens the door for the integration of science, technology, and natural resources to produce innovations that are more adaptable to the needs of society and industrial developments. This approach also encourages the use of natural materials not only as resources but as part of the development of innovative products with.
The diverse perspectives and ideas shared played a key role in deepening our understanding of both the challenges and opportunities involved in developing herbal-based products in the beauty industry. This forum also served as a platform for participants to recognize the importance of collaboration among academics, industry representatives, regulators, and various stakeholders in building a sustainable innovation ecosystem.
The Kurkumin × Pharmacious 2026 National Seminar also underscored the importance of synergy between natural resources and technological advancements in addressing future industry needs.
