Yogyakarta, May 25, 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada once again demonstrated its commitment to enhancing academic quality and scientific publications through the organization of a Scientific Writing Workshop entitled “Building the Foundation of Scientific Article Writing” on Monday (May 25). The event was conducted both offline at the Workshop Room, 3rd Floor, Unit IX, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, and online via Zoom Meeting. It was attended by postgraduate students (Master’s and Doctoral programs) of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, particularly the 2025 cohort, as well as students from other cohorts.
The workshop featured Prof. Dr. apt. Susi Ari Kristina, M.Kes. as the main speaker. During her presentation, participants were introduced to the essential foundations of scientific article writing, ranging from developing research ideas and organizing systematic writing structures to strategies for producing academically sound articles suitable for publication in scientific journals. The session was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participants actively engaging in discussions and raising questions regarding the challenges of scientific writing at the postgraduate level.

Prof. Susi Ari Kristina emphasized that the ability to write scientific articles is an important skill that postgraduate students must continuously develop. According to her, scientific publication is not only an academic requirement but also a meaningful contribution to the advancement of knowledge and the resolution of various public health issues. “Writing a scientific article requires a consistent process and a strong foundation. Through this workshop, I hope students will become more confident in presenting their research findings in high-quality scientific publications,” she stated.
This workshop is also aligned with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the enhancement of higher education quality and the strengthening of students’ academic competencies in scientific writing. In addition, the workshop supports SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by encouraging innovation and the development of research through high-quality scientific publications. Furthermore, the activity is related to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through academic collaboration between lecturers and students in fostering a productive culture of research and publication within higher education institutions.
