Faculty is a part of the executive element of the university’s main duties and led by a Dean who is directly responsible to the Rector. Faculty is in charge of implementing the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Principles of Higher Education): education and teaching, research, and community service, in addition to performing guidance for the academic communities and administrative service activities.
In carrying out his everyday tasks, a Dean is assisted by three Vice Deans including Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Vice Dean for General Administration, and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, Research and Cooperation. Similarly, in performing his technical tasks, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs is assisted by an assistant for the Education Affairs and an assistant for the Library Affairs. The Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, Research and Cooperation is also assisted by an assistant for the Student Affairs & Alumni and an assistant for the Research & Cooperation.
Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, was founded by the Indonesian Ministry of Health on September 27, 1946 under the name Perguruan Tinggi Ahli Obat (PTAO) or College of Medicine Expert (The date is set as the birthday of Faculty of Pharmacy). This college became a member in a joint-college consisting of the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Agriculture, and College of Veterinary Medicine, all chaired by Prof. Dr. M. Sardjito and domiciled in Tegalyoso Hospital Complex, Klaten District. At the time of the incident of Indonesian Communist Party’s rebellion and the 2nd military action by the Dutch army, then on December 19, 1948 the college was forced to discontinue its academic activities. A large number of faculty members and students at that time joined the Indonesian army to participate in the guerrilla or the Red Cross team.
Greetings,
Welcome to the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada!
Since our founding on September 27, 1946, the Faculty of Pharmacy has been dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical sciences and education. As Indonesia’s oldest pharmaceutical education institution, we offer five accredited programs. These include the Bachelor of Pharmacy, Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences—all accredited “A” by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada welcomed the Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Burapha University Professor Ekarin Saifah at the official residence of the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 16.00 western Indonesian times. Professor Ekarin Saifah and Ms Thiyapa were cordially received by Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Professor Agung Endro Nugroho along with Vice Dean for Research, Community Services, Collaboration, and Alumni Dr Endang Lukitaningsih. Among them are Dr Allwar from Universitas Islam Indonesia, Dr Dyah Aryani Perwitasari from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, and Dr Aris Widowati from Universitas Sanata Dharma.
