Yogyakarta, March 25, 2026 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again achieved a proud milestone in the international higher education arena. UGM’s Pharmacy & Pharmacology subject has officially entered the ranks of the world’s top universities based on the prestigious QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject, officially released on March 25, 2026.
In this year’s ranking, UGM’s Pharmacy and Pharmacology successfully secured the 351-400 position globally with an Overall Score of 56.3. This remarkable accomplishment is the result of various assessment indicators demonstrating the quality of the Tridarma (Three Pillars of Higher Education) within the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy.
The overall score of 56.3 is a tangible manifestation of the Faculty’s excellence across these dimensions, strongly supported by the Citation per Paper score (66.3), which proves the massive impact of UGM’s academic research and publications as a global reference. It is further bolstered by Employer Reputation (58.0), affirming the high competence and competitiveness of UGM Pharmacy graduates in the eyes of the healthcare industry. This success is also inseparable from the strong international peer recognition reflected in the Academic Reputation (57.4), the productivity and quality of scientific publications measured by the H-index (52.6), and the Faculty’s commitment to expanding cross-border research collaborations as indicated by the International Research Network score (37.1).
The Dean of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Satibi, S.Si., M.Si. Apt., welcomed and expressed appreciation for this achievement. “This accomplishment is a concrete manifestation of the hard work, dedication, and synergy of the entire academic community of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. This international recognition from QS by Subject proves that the quality of our education, research, and graduates can compete on a global scale,” he stated.
The high scores in the Citation per Paper (66.3) and Employer Reputation (58.0) indicators affirm that the research publications produced by UGM Pharmacy researchers have a significant impact on science, while simultaneously proving that graduates of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy are highly recognized and sought after by the professional world.
This global recognition also reaffirms the Faculty of Pharmacy’s strong commitment to advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By continuously producing high-impact health research and highly competent pharmaceutical professionals, the Faculty directly contributes to ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being (SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being), as well as providing inclusive and equitable quality education (SDG 4, Quality Education).
