Enhancing Academic Quality, STIFARM Padang Conducts Curriculum Benchmarking at Faculty of Pharmacy UGM

Yogyakarta, 13 April 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), hosted a benchmarking visit from the Padang School of Pharmacy (STIFARM Padang) on 13 April 2026. This visit aimed to evaluate and develop the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program and Pharmacist Profession Program curriculum at STIFARM Padang to better align with workforce demands and the latest advancements in pharmaceutical sciences.

During the meeting, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM shared experiences and best practices regarding academic management, competency-based curriculum updates, and the integration of research into the learning process. This discussion is expected to provide fresh perspectives for STIFARM Padang in designing an adaptive and high-quality curriculum.

This benchmarking activity serves as an essential platform for the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to reinforce its role as a reference for higher pharmacy education in Indonesia. Beyond curriculum discussions, the meeting opened opportunities for future strategic cooperation in academics and research between the two institutions to advance national pharmacy education.

This collaborative step aligns with the achievement of SDG 4 (Quality Education) through efforts to improve the quality of higher education standards and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by building networks among pharmacy colleges in Indonesia. Through this synergy, it is hoped that pharmacy graduates from both institutions will be better equipped to meet global challenges in the healthcare sector.
