The Faculty of Pharmacy of Universitas Gadjah Mada is Hosting a Guest Lecture in collaboration with GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research of Kiel, Germany, as part of the EQUITY Visiting (Inviting) Top Professors

Yogyakarta, June 9, 2026 — As part of the ongoing EQUITY Visiting (Inviting) Top Professors program, the Faculty of Pharmacy of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again organised an international guest lecture in collaboration with the research institution GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research of Kiel, Germany. The event, held from 10.00–14.00 WIB in the Executive Meeting Room on the 7th Floor of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM, specifically focused on the main topic entitled “From Laboratory Discovery to Commercial Diagnostic Test: The Development of Calcium Isotope Analysis for Osteoporosis Detection”.

The guest lecture featured Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Anton Eisenhauer, an expert in marine geoscience specialising in stable isotope chemical analysis, as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, Prof. Eisenhauer provided a comprehensive introduction to the scientific principles of stable isotopes whilst presenting his latest research innovations regarding the application of this method for the early detection of osteoporosis. This academic discussion session was also attended by the Dean’s Office leadership, lecturers, and students from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Through this guest lecture, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada is making a tangible contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being through a public lecture addressing the development of innovations and diagnostic tests for the early detection of osteoporosis, SDG 4 on Quality Education through the organisation of public lectures under the Equity Visiting Top Professors programme, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the commercialisation of research as an effort to drive scientific innovation from the laboratory to commercial products, and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals through international inter-institutional collaboration, namely between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada and the research institution GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research, Germany.
