Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) embarked on a fruitful journey of collaboration during its visit to the University of Groningen in the Netherlands from April 23 to 24, 2024. Led by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Apt. Satibi, M.Si., the delegation aimed to strengthen ties between the two institutions and advance academic development, particularly in the context of the Agreement of Double Doctoral Program.
The visit was warmly received by colleagues and partners at the University of Groningen, including representatives from the International Office, the leaderboard of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy. Beyond the intended Double Degree Program, discussions centered on collaborative research activities between the two faculties, as well as familiarization with the University of Groningen’s research laboratories.
This academic visit holds the promise of enhancing collaboration between our faculties and enriching the educational landscape internationally. It is an opportunity to enhance the links between our institutions and build a greater knowledge of global education in the age of globalization. All in all, this program is aligned with The Sustainable Development Goals number 4 related to Quality Education as well as number 17 which is Partnerships for the Goals.
The event concluded with the presentation of an appreciation plaque from Prof. Dr. Apt. Satibi, M.Si as the Dean Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to Prof. Gerrit Poelarends, as Director of the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy, in recognition of the collaborative efforts.
The visit marks a significant step towards realizing the goals of international collaboration and academic exchange between the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and the University of Groningen, setting the stage for continued partnership and mutual growth.
