Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada Paid a Visit to the Grave of Late Pharmacy Professors as part of the Lustrum XVI and the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Faculty of Pharmacy

Yogyakarta, August 17, 2026 – On Monday (17/8), the community of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) paid a visit to the graves of their predecessors and pharmacy faculty members. This solemn event was held as a gesture of respect and to honor the contributions of these predecessors, while also serving as part of the series of events commemorating the Lustrum XVI and the 80th Anniversary of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy.

This pilgrimage was attended in person by faculty leadership, including the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si.; the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si., and the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. apt. Nanang Munif Yasin, M.Pharm. A number of faculty members, staff, and family members of the deceased were also in attendance and joined in offering prayers together. After the joint prayer session concluded, the event continued with a “Nyekar” ceremony, a procession in which faculty leaders, lecturers, academic staff, and family members scattered flowers on the graves.

This year’s pilgrimage and Nyekar route will focus on four locations: the graves of UGM lecturers and professors in the Sawitsari area, the Karangkajen Cemetery, the Imogiri Cemetery, and the cemetery in the Pajangan area of Bantul Regency.

This activity also aligns with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by strengthening togetherness and social well-being within the academic community, as well as SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by fostering values of respect, solidarity, and appreciation for the contributions of our predecessors.
