Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada received a visit from Professor Joseph T. Dipiro in a welcoming session entitled “Afternoon Coffee with Professor Joseph T Dipiro” at meeting hall Unit I of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 15.30 to 17.00 western Indonesian times. The session was attended by some key persons in Faculty of Pharmacy UGM including the faculty members and some representative students. Professor Dipiro was warmly welcomed by Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Professor Agung Endro Nugroho along with Vice Dean for Research, Community Services, Collaboration, and Alumni Dr Endang Lukitaningsih, and Vice Dean for Finance, Human Resource, and Property Management Dr Satibi Ali Kusnadi.
Professor Agung Endro Nugroho was honoured to deliver an opening remark and extended his gratitude to Professor Dipiro, “On behalf of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, I would like to say thank you very much for your time and effort to join us in this session.” The Dean also invited the Chair of Master of Clinical Pharmacy Program Professor Zullies Ikawati to give an introduction and share the current situation of their program. “I am impressed by the progress you made in running the Master of Clinical Pharmacy Program; I noticed that you have a good structure curriculum,” said Professor Dipiro after being introduced to Master of Clinical Pharmacy Program.
Besides, the Dean also appointed the Chair of Pharmacist Education Program Dr Ika Puspita Sari to give a presentation on the preceptor activities in Indonesian hospitals. As a preceptor herself, Dr Ika also shared her experience about the integrated visit program at Dr Sardjito Hospital. “The clinicians at Dr Sardjito Hospital and I visited certain patients and had a discussion every Wednesday” explained Dr Ika. “The service (the integrated visit program) was excellent; it is a good way to promote interprofessional health education” Professor Dipiro praised.
