UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Holds “Statistics for Health” Workshop for Postgraduate Students

Yogyakarta, 1 December 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, organized the Statistics for Health Workshop on Monday, 1 December 2025, at the Workshop Room, 3rd Floor, Unit IX, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The event featured Drs. Zulaela, Dipl.Med.Stats., M.Si. as the keynote speaker and Dr. Sylvia Utami TP., M.Si. as the moderator. The workshop ran from 07:30 to 16:00 WIB and was attended by postgraduate students, with mandatory participation for the 2025 cohort and optional participation for the 2024 and 2023 cohorts. To increase accessibility, the workshop was also available online via Zoom.

The workshop was designed to strengthen students’ competencies in understanding and applying statistical analysis in the health sciences. Mastery of statistical methodologies is essential in modern pharmaceutical research, from research design and data processing to the interpretation of scientifically valid and accountable results.

This activity also contributes to the advancement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the improvement of health services and evidence-based research (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being), the enhancement of higher education capacity through inclusive, adaptive, and relevant learning (SDG 4: Quality Education), and the strengthening of research infrastructure and innovation that supports scientific development in health and pharmaceutical fields (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
