Yogyakarta, August 7, 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) officially concluded the PIONIR PAPYRUS 2026 series of activities as part of the campus orientation program for new students) for the 2026/2027 academic year on Thursday, August 6th at the 8th-floor auditorium of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM. The series of events was attended by all new students, along with the faculty leaderships, lecturers, staff, and PAPYRUS committee.
The event began with an introduction of the faculty leadership under the theme “Dekanat Menyapa,” hosted by Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM. During this session, the event also featured the Vice Dean for Human Resources, Finance, and Assets, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si., who on this occasion also represented the other Vice Deans. The introduction was also attended by apt. Purwanto, M.Sc., Ph.D., Chair of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program, and Ningsririsdiyati, S.E., Chair of the Academic and Student Affairs Working Group at the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy.
The session then continued with two presentations: one on an introduction to the Faculty of Pharmacy, led by Prof. Satibi, and another on the learning system in higher education, presented by Mr. Purwanto. These presentations were followed by an interactive discussion and Q&A session with the new students.
As a token of appreciation for the participants’ involvement and enthusiasm throughout the event, the event continued with an awards ceremony. The “MaBa of the Year” award was presented to Rayyan, while the “Best Group” title went to the Metformin Group. It is hoped that these awards will inspire young pharmacists to continue actively contributing to the field.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Satibi and Prof. Endang Lukitaningsih presided over the closing ceremony. The PIONIR PAPYRUS 2026 series of events was officially declared concluded, marked by a symbolic closing ceremony for the Pharmacy Capsule.
The implementation of the PIONIR PAPYRUS 2026 series is a tangible manifestation of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Through a comprehensive introduction to the academic system and adaptation to university life, the faculty is helping to realize SDG 4 on Quality Education to ensure inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education. Furthermore, this initial training for young pharmacists serves as a foundational step for the institution in cultivating professional pharmaceutical personnel who will eventually contribute directly to strengthening the national health sector, in line with SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being.
