UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Graduates 92 New Pharmacists with Outstanding Achievement: 100% Pass Rate in Competency Exam”

Yogyakarta, April 17, 2025 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), once again held the Graduation Ceremony and the Pharmacist’s Oath Recital for the Second Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. A total of 92 graduates from the Pharmacist Professional Program were officially inaugurated and took the pharmacist’s oath during this period. The oath recital was led directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, accompanied by religious leaders from various faiths.

The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, followed by the pharmacist’s oath and the graduation procession for the graduates. This occasion marked an important milestone, symbolizing the graduates’ commitment to serve in the fields of health and pharmacy.

The atmosphere grew warmer with a series of heartfelt speeches. Aisya Rahmadani Humaningayu, representing the new pharmacist graduates, expressed gratitude and hopes for the future. Meanwhile, Dr. Bambang Ismanto, M.Si., representing the parents, conveyed appreciation and pride for the achievements of the young pharmacists. Dra. apt. Henny Aprita Rahayuningsih, M.Si., from the Yogyakarta Provincial Health Office, emphasized the vital role of pharmacists in ensuring equitable and quality healthcare services for all Indonesians. The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., concluded the speeches by highlighting the importance of being lifelong learners and staying responsive to advances in science and technology.

The graduates achieved remarkable accomplishments. A total of 99% of the 92 graduates earned the cum laude distinction. Furthermore, all graduates who took part in the Kompetensi Mahasiswa Program Profesi Apoteker Indonesia (UKMPPAI) passed, resulting in a 100% pass rate—significantly higher than the national average of 86.28%. The Faculty of Pharmacy UGM even recorded the highest national average score for the UKMPPAI-CBT at 77.46%. These results serve as a testament to the students’ dedication, hard work, and integrity throughout their professional education journey.

Several graduates also received awards for their academic achievements and contributions. Farida Ainun Zahra was granted the Dexa Award, while Vanilia Ihramatul Muhlida and Dea Amalia Putri received the Novell Award. The Pharmacy Award was presented to Aida Putri Karima, Nasiti Okti Istiarini, Jesica Teo, and Afif Rakha Murthadha. These awards were personally presented by the Dean, who also extended appreciation to PT Dexa and Novell Pharmaceutical Laboratories for their continued support.

Of the total graduates in this period, around 40% are already employed, with 90% of them choosing to pursue careers in the pharmaceutical industry. This demonstrates that the graduates are not only academically prepared but also competitive in the job market.

This event was more than just a graduation ceremony; it also signified UGM’s real contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy closed his remarks by encouraging all graduates to always remember UGM’s values , Locally Rooted, Globally Respected, and to continue making meaningful contributions not only in the field of pharmacy but also in society and the nation as a whole.
