Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada Hosts Benchmarking Visit from Department of Pharmacy Universitas Brawijaya

Yogyakarta, April 16, 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), hosted a benchmarking visit from the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of higher education and advance the Master’s Program in Pharmacy. The visit took place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Leadership Meeting Room, 7th Floor, APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB.

This benchmarking activity served as a collaborative platform to exchange best practices in pharmacy education management. Key discussion points included unit cost calculation as the basis for determining tuition fees (SPP/UKT), curriculum structure and development, academic governance and management systems, learning facilities and infrastructure, student admission systems, and graduation requirements. Through constructive academic dialogue, both institutions are expected to gain valuable insights in addressing the evolving challenges of higher education.

The Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., emphasized that this benchmarking visit is not only an opportunity for knowledge exchange, but also a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of higher pharmacy education in Indonesia. “We believe that inter-institutional collaboration is essential in building an adaptive, inclusive, and globally competitive education system,” the Dean stated.

This initiative also aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the improvement of curriculum and academic governance, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through strengthening pharmacy education capacity that contributes to healthcare services, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strategic collaboration among higher education institutions in developing sustainable education systems.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM reaffirms its commitment to being a leading, innovative institution that contributes meaningfully to the advancement of public health.
