Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed an honorary visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Malaya, Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Hasniza Binti Zaman Huri, on Monday (4/11). This meeting was held in the Dean’s Meeting Room, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, on the 4th floor, and attended by the Dean and the leadership team of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy. The visit is part of efforts to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions to support the enhancement of educational and research quality in the field of pharmacy.
The main agenda of the visit focused on consolidating the Double Degree Doctoral program, which was agreed upon by the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Malaya, in 2024. This program is expected to be implemented by 2025 as a strategic step to improve doctoral competencies for students of both institutions. The Double Degree Doctoral program will provide students with the opportunity to earn a doctoral degree from two renowned universities in Southeast Asia, while also broadening academic networks and enriching cross-cultural experiences in the field of pharmaceutical research and development.
This visit is also expected to mark an important starting point in establishing a long-term academic collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and the University of Malaya, which will contribute positively to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences. Through this collaboration, both institutions are committed to supporting the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education) through high-quality educational programs, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening inter-institutional educational collaboration.
