Pharmacy UGM – On Friday, May 31, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a delegation from Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Korea. The esteemed delegation included Daniel Kwon, Jonghyun Lee, and Winston Obert from Daewoong Korea, as well as Dita Ayu Purnamasari from Daewoong Biologics Indonesia.
The primary objective of this visit was to explore potential collaborative opportunities with UGM’s researchers and to benchmark the advanced laboratory facilities of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. The discussions aimed at strengthening research partnerships and enhancing internship prospects for UGM students.
The meeting was led by Dr. rer. nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni. Dr. Nanang expressed optimism that this meeting would significantly bolster the collaborative potential between the two institutions, increasing advancements in pharmaceutical research and creating valuable internship opportunities for students.
The visit underscores a shared commitment to innovation and excellence in the pharmaceutical field, laying a foundation for future cooperative endeavors that will benefit both institutions. This collaboration aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), by promoting health research and innovation, and SDG 4 (Quality Education), through the creation of enhanced learning and internship opportunities for students.
