Yogyakarta, July 21, 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a coordination meeting in preparation for the implementation of a community service program as part of the 16th Lustrum series. The meeting was attended by the Chair of the 16th Lustrum Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Dr. rer. nat. apt. Yosi Bayu Murti, M.Si., the Coordinator of the Community Service Program, Dr. Djoko Santoso, M.Si., representatives from the Academic Hospital (RSA) UGM, as well as representatives from Padukuhan Karanggayam and Blimbingsari as the designated locations for the activities.
The planned community service activities include free health check-ups for the public, covering blood pressure, blood glucose, uric acid, and cholesterol screenings. In addition, health education and outreach sessions will be conducted, including DAGUSIBU (Get, Use, Store, and Dispose of Medicines Properly), rational drug use, medication adherence, and prevention of non-communicable diseases.
The implementation of this program involves healthcare professionals from RSA UGM, including doctors and nurses who will conduct the health screenings. Medicines for participants will be provided by PT Dexa Medica as a sponsoring partner, while RSA UGM will also support the program by providing vitamins. Faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM will serve as pharmacists, providing medications along with counseling on their proper use. The activities are scheduled to take place on Saturday–Sunday, August 1–2, 2026, at the community halls of Padukuhan Karanggayam and Sendowo.
Through this initiative, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM aims to make a tangible contribution to the surrounding community, particularly those living near the campus area. Furthermore, this activity supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education) through community health education, Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by improving access to healthcare services, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and the industrial sector.
