Yogyakarta, September 22, 2026 – Students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), have once again earned international recognition. Representing UGM as Team MKT04, the delegation achieved 2nd Runner-Up (3rd Place) in the Industrial Skill Event (ISE) – Pharmaceutical Marketing competition during the 71st IPSF World Congress 2026 held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The IPSF World Congress is the premier annual flagship event hosted by the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF), representing pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students globally. In this 71st edition, the ISE – Pharmaceutical Marketing category was held in collaboration with AstraZeneca (Thailand) Ltd. and supported by the Marketing Pharmacy Association of Thailand (MPAT). The competition evaluated students’ ability to combine pharmaceutical expertise with strategic thinking to address complex marketing challenges in the pharmaceutical industry.
Centered on the theme “From Value to Impact: Pharmaceutical Marketing in the Digital Era”, the event highlighted the necessity of translating scientific and clinical insights into meaningful healthcare outcomes through strategic communication and digital marketing tools. Participants were challenged to craft data-driven, creative, and ethical marketing campaigns tailored to the evolving demands of healthcare professionals, patients, and modern health systems.
Team MKT04 comprised four dedicated UGM pharmacy students: Allesha Ratrin Kalinda (IUP 2024), Shintia Dewi Pravitia (IUP 2024), Nayla Salsabila Raihanah (Regular 2024), and Alma Griselda Sitanggang (IUP 2025). Through robust market analysis, critical problem-solving, and professional execution, the team successfully stood out among international competitors.
This international milestone directly supports UGM’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The formulation of ethical and educational pharmaceutical marketing strategies aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by fostering accessible and accurate medical communication, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by demonstrating academic excellence and practical competence on a global scale, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening cross-sectoral collaboration between academia, international student bodies, and leading pharmaceutical industries. This achievement is expected to inspire the entire UGM Pharmacy community to continuously excel on global platforms.
