Prof. Abdul Rohman Has Officially Appointed as Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Gadjah Mada University for the 2026–2031 term

Yogyakarta, October 1, 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) officially marked a leadership transition with the handover ceremony for the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for the 2026–2031 term. The ceremony was held on Wednesday (30/9) in the 8th-floor auditorium of the APSLC Building at the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy at 1:00 p.m. WIB, and was attended by faculty members, support staff, and the Chair of the UGM School of Pharmacy Student Executive Board (BEM KM) who is representing UGM pharmacy students.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. apt. Abdul Rohman, M.Si., officially appointed as the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy for the 2026–2031 term after receiving the “leadership baton” from the previous dean, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si. In his speech, Prof. Satibi expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the entire academic community for their support and hard work during his tenure as dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. In addition, Prof. Satibi also apologized for any shortcomings and mistakes that occurred during his time as dean.

On the other hand, in his speech, Prof. Abdul expressed his gratitude for the trust the academic community had placed in him, leading to his election to continue leading the Faculty of Pharmacy for the next five years. He emphasized that, under his leadership, the Faculty of Pharmacy is ready to continue accelerating strategic programs, expanding research innovation, and producing outstanding pharmaceutical professionals who are globally competitive.

This transition in the Dean’s leadership is a clear reflection of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to achieving sustainable higher education governance, which is certainly aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. Through a solid, participatory (by involving the academic community), and transparent leadership transition, the Faculty of Pharmacy continues to strengthen its institutional capacity.

In addition, it is hoped that the arrival of this new leadership will continue to drive and ensure the achievement of SDG 4 on Quality Education. Undoubtedly, this new leadership vision will serve as a catalyst for curriculum innovation, the strengthening of research, and the development of students’ character, all of which are aimed at producing graduates of pharmaceutical higher education who will have a positive impact on the health of the broader community.
