Yogyakarta, May 2, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has earned the top spot in Indonesia according to the latest EduRank Best Universities for Pharmacy list. This recognition is based on research performance, placing UGM ahead of 15 other Indonesian universities evaluated in the field.
Internationally, the faculty also achieved a notable position, ranking 506th in Asia and 1,283rd worldwide in pharmacy. The rankings were determined by analysing 2,420 academic publications and 11,500 citations, reflecting the faculty’s strong contribution to pharmaceutical research. In general, the ranking of universities by Edurank is based on three research performance (number of scientific publications, number of citations, H-index, and international collaboration), non-academic aspects (influence and popularity of universities in cyberspace, including website traffic, backlinks, engagement on social media, and the general image of the institution on the internet), and alumni contribution, namely the number of graduates who are internationally known and have an impact in their fields.
This accomplishment highlights the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s dedication to producing high-impact research that advances both scientific knowledge and public health. EduRank’s methodology focuses solely on the quality and reach of academic output, regardless of whether it comes from undergraduate or graduate programs.
This achievement supports UGM’s ongoing commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, through its efforts to provide inclusive, innovative, and lifelong learning opportunities. It also aligns with Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being, as the faculty continues to enhance research and development capacity to improve healthcare systems.
