Pharmacy UGM – The collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and the Faculty of Science at the University of Leiden, Netherlands, takes a significant step forward with the recent visit of delegates from University of Leiden to UGM. The visit, which took place from March 4 to March 8, 2024, aimed not only to initiate discussions on joint degree programs but also to foster research collaboration, particularly focusing on Zebrafish, involving the faculties of Pharmacy, Biology, and Public Health and Nursing at UGM.
The agenda of the visit included various activities, with a keynote lecture held on March 6, 2024, enriching the academic discourse on collaborative research endeavors. The highlight of the event occurred on March 8, 2024, with a joint meeting hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, attended by representatives from the Faculty of Biology, the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, as well as the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology UGM. The purpose of this gathering was to collectively explore the draft of the joint doctoral degree collaboration initiated by the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM and University of Leiden.
Led by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM, Dr. Nanang Munif Yasin S.Si., M.Pharm. Apt., the meeting aimed to enhance mutual understanding and further collaboration with the University of Leiden, particularly in the realm of educational advancement through joint doctoral degree programs. It is hoped that the meeting held on March 8 by the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM will serve as a benchmark for other participating faculties in drafting joint degree program collaborations with the University of Leiden.
Dr. Nanang Munif Yasin expressed his optimism, stating, “We believe that this meeting will not only strengthen our ties with University of Leiden but also pave the way for innovative educational collaborations that will benefit both institutions and advance research in our respective fields.”
