UGM Pharmacy Students Win First Place in the Patient Counseling Competition at PHARMADAYS 2025

Yogyakarta, August 30, 2025 — Students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), once again made an outstanding achievement at PHARMADAYS 2025, an event organized by the Gadjah Mada Drug Information Center (PIOGAMA) in collaboration with the Indonesian Health Student Network (JMKI). This competition serves as a platform for pharmacy students across Indonesia to enhance their professional competence, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities in pharmaceutical practice.

This year’s PHARMADAYS carried the theme “Sugar Smart Enterprise: Addressing Diabetes Challenges Through Pharmaceutical Business Innovation.” The Patient Counseling Competition (PCC) consisted of two stages: an online preliminary round on August 11, 2025, and an offline final round held at the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy on August 30, 2025. After a rigorous evaluation by judges, three UGM students impressively secured all top positions. Alyssa Izzatee Fauzi won First Place, followed by Maliha Hanun in Second Place, and Icha Dwi Anggita in Third Place.

This achievement not only reflects the academic excellence and communication proficiency of UGM pharmacy students but also aligns with the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) in improving community health through human-centered pharmaceutical services, SDG 4 (Quality Education) in strengthening practice-based learning and competence development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between educational institutions and national health organizations.

Through this accomplishment, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM reaffirms its commitment to nurturing future pharmacists who are not only academically competent but also socially aware, clinically skilled, and globally minded—ready to contribute to advancing public health both nationally and internationally.
