UGM Pharmacy Students Win First Place in National Essay Competition at the 13th Anniversary of MPI UIN Sunan Kalijaga

Yogyakarta, September 1, 2025 – Three students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Ananda Fitriana, Nurul Shafira Nissa, and Chavia Elvaretta Rahmayadi, achieved First Place in the National Essay Competition held as part of the 13th Anniversary of the Islamic Education Management (MPI) Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The competition, which brought together students from public and private universities across Indonesia, served as an intellectual platform for young scholars to exchange innovative and solution-oriented ideas.

Carrying the theme “Innovative Synergy of Young Generations in the Era of Society 5.0 to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” the event encouraged participants to explore ideas across various fields, including education, socio-culture, creative economy, technology, renewable energy, health, and environment. Through creative ideas, strong arguments, and compelling presentations, the UGM Pharmacy team outperformed finalists from universities nationwide, showcasing the intellectual excellence of UGM students in addressing global challenges through scientific and applicable innovations.

This accomplishment also contributes to the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9). By fostering collaboration and innovation, UGM Pharmacy students have demonstrated their active role in building a sustainable future through enhancing educational quality, strengthening public health systems, and developing impactful scientific innovations.

Through this achievement, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM reaffirms its commitment to nurturing young generations who are not only academically excellent but also socially conscious and capable of contributing meaningfully to sustainable development at both national and global levels.
