UGM Pharmacy Students Win First Place in National Essay Competition at Biofest 2025

Yogyakarta, September 28, 2025 – Two students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Chavia Elvaretta Rahmayadi and Ananda Fitriana, proudly secured First Place in the National Essay Competition at the Biology Festival Science Competition (Biofest) 2025. The competition, organized by the Student Association of the Biology Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, serves as a national platform to cultivate students’ critical and innovative thinking in the field of science while encouraging their contribution to the advancement of knowledge in Indonesia.

This achievement highlights the commitment of UGM Pharmacy students to integrate scientific knowledge with creativity and social awareness. Through their essay, they demonstrated how pharmaceutical science can contribute to solving real-world health and environmental issues through sustainable and evidence-based innovation.

The success of UGM students in Biofest 2025 also reflects the university’s dedication to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3).
