Yogyakarta, May 3, 2025 – Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), have once again brought pride at the international level. In the IPSF Regional Competitions 2025, organized by the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation Asia Pacific Regional Office (IPSF APRO), UGM Pharmacy students successfully secured top achievements in the Industrial Skills Event (ISE) category.
The IPSF Regional Competitions are a prestigious event that brings together pharmacy students and alumni from various countries across the Asia-Pacific region. This year, the competition carried the theme “Rapid Analysis and Reliable Outcomes in Shaping Industry Resilience”, emphasizing the vital role of pharmacists in strengthening the resilience of the pharmaceutical industry through rapid analysis and reliable outcomes. The competition serves as a strategic platform for future pharmacists to sharpen professional skills, develop critical thinking, and provide tangible solutions to current issues in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, through IPSF BEM KMFA UGM, sent several of its best teams to participate in the event. Team JANIZE, consisting of Jennifer, Farah Choirun Nisa, and Dzaki Hasan Nasrullah, successfully won First Place after going through a rigorous assessment process. Their achievement highlights the ability of UGM Pharmacy students to integrate academic knowledge with analytical skills, teamwork, and creativity in addressing challenges within the pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, Team NIRvana, also representing IPSF BEM KMFA UGM, achieved Third Place. The team members Anggit Wignya Adi Prasasti, Iffah Zakiya Yasmin, and Kevin Lensrich Kar further strengthened UGM’s presence on the international stage. The accomplishments of these two teams in a single competition serve as strong evidence of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s consistency in producing outstanding and globally competitive students.
This achievement reinforces the reputation of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy as one of the leading pharmacy education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region. Beyond academic excellence, UGM students have demonstrated their capability to address global challenges through innovation, technical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics within the health industry.
The success at the IPSF Regional Competitions 2025 is expected to inspire other students to continue developing their potential, broaden their international perspectives, and contribute significantly to the advancement of pharmaceutical science and the healthcare industry in the future.
Aligned with this achievement, the success of UGM Pharmacy students also supports the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Through this accomplishment, UGM Pharmacy students contribute to improving educational quality, promoting innovation in health, and strengthening the sustainable resilience of the pharmaceutical industry.
