UGM Pharmacy Student Wins Second Place in Pharmafest 2025 Poster Competition

Yogyakarta, August 31, 2025 – Another achievement has been made by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Trisna Pramudea Puryatna won second place in the Pharmafest 2025 Poster Competition held by the Pharmacy Student Association of Jenderal Achmad Yani University, Yogyakarta.

With the theme “Technology and Innovation in Controlling Antibiotic Resistance in the Modern Era,” Trisna presented a poster entitled “Prevent Antibiotic Resistance with 5 STOP.” This poster was considered outstanding because it was able to convey an educational message by combining scientific data, attractive visual design, and a communicative approach through the 5 STOP bridge. The five STOPs including, stop buying antibiotics without a prescription, stop using antibiotics for non-bacterial infections, stop stopping medication before it is finished, stop storing antibiotics at home, and stop giving leftover antibiotics to others.

This achievement is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, through public education on the prudent use of antibiotics, and SDG 4: Quality Education by fostering students’ creativity in conveying health knowledge to the community.

This achievement proves that UGM Pharmacy students are not only academically excellent, but also capable of becoming agents of change in supporting promotional and preventive efforts in the health sector, in order to improve the quality of life of the Indonesian people.
