Yogyakarta, July 16, 2025 — A student from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Gusti Ayu Putu Widya Pratiwi, has achieved remarkable success by winning awards in two national competitions in the fields of health and nutrition: NUTCOM 2025 and NUTRICHAMP 2025.
At NUTCOM (Nutrition Competition) 2025, organized by the Undergraduate Nutrition Student Association of Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya (HIMAGIZU), Gusti Ayu secured Third Place in the essay category. This annual national competition aims to sharpen students’ critical thinking, creativity, and innovation through scientific writing and posters, focusing on themes around obesity prevention and the importance of healthy eating habits among adolescents.
Meanwhile, in the NUTRICHAMP (Nutrition Champion) 2025 competition, organized online by the Nutrition Student Association of Singaperbangsa Karawang University, Gusti Ayu once again brought pride to Pharmacy UGM by winning Second Place in the national essay contest. Her essay, titled ANERON (Anemia Response Optimization via Nutrigenomic Ecosystem), proposed an innovative model for addressing anemia through a combination of nutrigenomics, precision digital technology, local food wisdom, and community empowerment.
Gusti Ayu’s success in both competitions is not only a source of pride for the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy but also a testament to the dedication of Pharmacy UGM students in developing creative and scientific solutions to public health issues. “This victory is not just a personal achievement but a collective spirit to bring pharmacy and nutrition science closer to the community through innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration,” Gusti Ayu stated.
Her achievements further highlight the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through efforts to raise awareness about balanced nutrition, as well as SDG 4 (Quality Education) through active participation in scientific competitions. Moreover, the community empowerment and local wisdom approaches she promoted also support SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering cross-sector collaboration.
