UGM Pharmacy – Two lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Dr. apt. Abdul Rohman, M.Si., and apt. Eka Noviana, M.Sc., Ph.D., have once again achieved recognition by being listed among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists according to Stanford University. This recognition is based on bibliometric data analysis that evaluates research quality, citation impact, and scientific contributions in their respective fields.

The 2025 list of influential scientists was published by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier B.V. through the release of the Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators. The publication highlights various evaluation indicators, including the number of citations, h-index, hm-index (with consideration of co-authorship), and composite score (c-score). Researchers are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification.

Among those listed are two lecturers from the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. This achievement is expected to support the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Quality Education, while also serving as motivation for students and young researchers to keep innovating. It also aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to advancing impactful research that contributes to scientific development and the improvement of community well-being.

One of the awardees, Eka Noviana, expressed her gratitude for once again being included in the list of the world’s most influential scientists. “This recognition encourages me to remain consistent in conducting research that brings benefits. Although this is not the first time I have received this acknowledgment, I still feel honored and motivated to further enhance the quality and impact of my research,” Eka said. Meanwhile, in recent years, Prof. Abdul Rohman has consistently produced publications on halal food analysis. According to scopus.com, his scholarly works have received 7,422 citations from 447 scientific articles, with an h-index of 41 as of September 2025.

Moreover, cross-institutional collaboration also supports SDG 17 on global partnerships in realizing sustainable development goals.
