Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), hosted a visit from representatives of University College MAIWP International (UCMI), Malaysia, on Wednesday (April 30). Held in the 7th-floor Leadership Meeting Room, APSLC building, this event marked an important step toward establishing international collaboration between the two institutions.
During the visit, both parties shared an overview of their respective academic programs and institutional profiles. Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the faculty’s education programs, research, and international partnership initiatives. Meanwhile, UCMI was represented by En. Mohammad Nasrin Bin Abdul Rahman, from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University College MAIWP International.
The discussion focused on initiating cooperation and developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering student and faculty exchange, collaborative research, guest lectures, joint seminars and conferences, and academic information sharing. The dialogue also explored the alignment of pharmacy curricula between the two institutions as a foundation for future joint academic programs.
Through this visit, both the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and UCMI Malaysia aim to strengthen institutional ties and formalize a mutually beneficial partnership shortly. This initiative supports the commitment of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
