UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Welcomes Students from SMA IT Al Auliya Balikpapan, Introducing Undergraduate Program and Admission Pathways

Yogyakarta, November 12, 2025 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a visit from 33 students and accompanying teachers from SMA IT Al Auliya Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The event, held at the Auditorium, 8th Floor of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, aimed to provide information into the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program and various undergraduate admission pathways available at UGM.

The visit began with a warm welcome from Andrian Dion Priadi, S.Kom., Head of the Administrative Office, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm in traveling from outside Java to learn more about the academic environment and higher education opportunities at UGM. He also encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence and to prepare themselves early for university admissions.

Following the welcoming session, the participants attended a presentation on the study program and admission schemes at UGM, delivered by apt. Fathul Muin, M.Pharm., a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy. In his presentation, he explained the admission pathways, including SNBP, SNBT, and UGM’s Independent Selection, and provided an overview of the curriculum, career prospects, and the strategic role of pharmacy in global health.

The students demonstrated great enthusiasm by actively engaging in discussions and asking questions about study and scholarship opportunities, campus life, and the contributions of UGM graduates to society. They also showed a strong interest in international partnerships and research opportunities that have been developed by UGM at the global level.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Faculty’s learning facilities and laboratories, where the students had the opportunity to observe UGM’s academic environment that supports both learning and research activities.

This series of activities aligns with UGM’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), in promoting inclusive, high-quality education and strengthening global collaboration.

The visit from SMA IT Al Auliya Balikpapan reflects UGM’s dedication to expanding educational access and fostering collaboration across Indonesia. Through activities like this, the Faculty of Pharmacy hopes to inspire younger generations to pursue higher education and contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences in the future.
