UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Strengthens Global Partnership with Monash University through Courtesy Meeting

Yogyakarta, April 1, 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a delegation from Monash University, Australia, in a courtesy meeting aimed at strengthening international collaboration. The meeting was attended by Zanfina Ademi, Head of the Health Economics and Policy Evaluation Research (HEPER) Group, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University, along with the leadership, academic staff, and faculty members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM.

The visit aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions and to expand the international network of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, particularly with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University. Discussions focused on opportunities in education, research, and community engagement, which are expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences globally.

During the productive and engaging discussion, both parties exchanged insights and highlighted their respective institutional strengths, including expertise in health economics and policy research. This collaboration is expected to open opportunities for academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, co-authored publications, and the development of innovative programs to enhance the quality of pharmacy education.

As a concrete step toward collaboration, the meeting was marked by the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and Monash University. This agreement serves as a strategic foundation for strengthening institutional ties and facilitating the implementation of future collaborative programs.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This international collaboration is expected to enhance the role of academia in addressing global health challenges through innovation, research, and sustainable partnerships.
