Organized by the Indonesian Cosmetic Association (Perkosmi), ICI 2025 served as a strategic platform for local and international suppliers to introduce the latest raw materials, technologies, and equipment in the cosmetic industry. Beyond promotion, ICI also fosters synergy between Academia, Business, and Government (ABG) to support the growth of an innovative and globally competitive cosmetic industry.
Supporting this synergy, the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy was given a special opportunity to present its flagship research through a scientific presentation by Prof. Endang Lukitaningsih titled “Exploring the Potential of Indonesian Plants in the Development of Research-Based Cosmetics.” Through this research, the Faculty reaffirms its commitment to developing innovative cosmetic products that sustainably harness the rich biodiversity of Indonesia’s natural resources.
UGM Pharmacy’s participation in ICI 2025 not only strengthens research collaboration with local and global industry players but also opens opportunities for long-term partnerships in the development of plant-based cosmetic innovations. This participation exemplifies UGM’s tangible contribution to supporting sustainable national industry development, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
