Yogyakarta,15 Juni 2026 – Mayyaza Urfa Karima (25/574797/FA/15342), a student of the Professional Pharmacy Study Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), won First Place in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) competition at the 2026 Indonesian Pharmacy Scientific Week (Pekan Ilmiah Farmasi Indonesia/PIFI). This achievement highlights the academic excellence of UGM’s Professional Pharmacy students and reinforces the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to producing highly competent pharmacy professionals.
Organized by Universitas Bhakti Kencana, the competition was held offline in Bandung, West Java, on 13 June 2026. The CBT competition is a national-level pharmacy olympiad that brings together Professional Pharmacy students from universities across Indonesia.
Participants were challenged to complete 100 questions in 100 minutes, covering three major areas: Pharmaceutical Science (PS), Clinical Science and Biomedical Science (CSBS), and Social, Behaviour, and Administration (SBA). Beyond assessing comprehensive pharmaceutical knowledge, the competition also tested participants’ analytical thinking, decision-making skills, and ability to work accurately under strict time constraints.
Through thorough preparation and a strong mastery of pharmaceutical sciences, Mayyaza outperformed competitors from universities nationwide to secure the championship title. Her achievement reflects the comprehensive competencies developed by students of UGM’s Professional Pharmacy Program, encompassing pharmaceutical sciences, clinical and biomedical knowledge, as well as social and administrative aspects of pharmacy practice.
This accomplishment demonstrates the quality of education at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, which emphasizes not only theoretical understanding but also critical thinking, evidence-based decision-making, and professional readiness to address the evolving challenges of pharmaceutical practice. Mayyaza’s success also highlights the competitiveness of UGM pharmacy students at the national level.
