UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Holds Iftar Gathering and Ramadan Lecture to Strengthen Bonds and Spiritual Values

Pharmacy UGM – On Wednesday (March 19), the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held an Iftar Gathering and Ramadan Lecture at the Asy-Syifa Mosque. This event aimed to strengthen the ties among the academic community of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM while enhancing spiritual values during the holy month of Ramadan. The event was attended by lecturers, administrative staff, student representatives, and the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM outsourcing employees.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si. In his remarks, he emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a time to strengthen social bonds and increase piety. Prof. Satibi highlighted that such activities not only reinforce spiritual values but also serve as a moment of reflection for the academic community in carrying out their duties and responsibilities with integrity and sincerity.

The highlight of the event was a religious lecture delivered by Ustadz apt. Rizqi Firdaus Zandy, S.Farm., on the theme “Ramadan: Attaining True Happiness in This Life and the Hereafter”. In his lecture, he underscored the importance of fasting with sincerity and patience and how Ramadan serves as an opportunity to improve both spiritual and social qualities. “True happiness is not only derived from worldly success but also from our closeness to Allah and the positive impact we bring to others,” said Ustadz Rizqi.

This event reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to sustainable development, particularly in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by fostering mental and spiritual well-being and SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting religious and social literacy within the academic environment.
