Yogyakarta, 17 November 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a discussion with PT Rining Prima Putra (PT RPP) regarding the implementation of their collaboration to develop RUBA Skincare products on Monday, 17 November, at 09.00 AM (WIB) via Zoom. The meeting was attended by faculty leaders, researchers, and the management team of PT RPP.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., stated that the faculty has several lecturers with strong expertise who are well-positioned to serve as members of the advisory board for RUBA Skincare. This advisory board is expected to provide scientific and strategic insights, particularly in formulation development, active ingredient safety, and research-based product innovation.
RUBA Skincare, managed by PT Rining Prima Putra, is a skincare brand designed specifically for sensitive skin and formulated to address environmental stressors such as pollution and sun exposure. Raisya Yuriafia Putri, President Director of PT Rining Prima Putra, also attended the discussion and expressed hope that this collaboration would enhance the quality and global competitiveness of Indonesian skincare products.
The discussion was also attended by experts from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, including Prof. Dr. apt. TN Saifullah Sulaiman, M.Si., Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology, and Prof. Dr. apt. Arief Nurrochmad, M.Si., M.Sc., Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, as well as Head of the Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences Laboratory. They shared perspectives on potential joint research opportunities and the strengthening of scientific standards in the development of RUBA Skincare products. This collaboration is expected to become a strategic step to reinforce industry–academia partnerships, enhance research-based innovation, and support the development of safe, effective, and globally competitive Indonesian cosmetic products.
The discussion and collaborative planning between the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy and PT Rining Prima Putra contribute significantly to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The partnership supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the development of safe, effective, and research-based skincare products that protect sensitive skin from environmental stressors such as pollution and UV exposure. Additionally, it reinforces SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting innovation in the national cosmetics industry through academic expertise in formulation, active ingredient selection, and safety evaluation. The strategic partnership between higher education institutions and industry also represents a concrete realization of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This cross-sector collaboration serves as a model of synergy that supports holistic, sustainable development efforts in Indonesia.
