The Student of Pharmacy UGM Wins Third Place at the Patient Counseling Event PHARMANOVA ITB 2024/2025

Bandung, February 22, 2025 — Another proud achievement has been attained by a student from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). Alyssa Izzatee Fauzi, a 2023 student of the Pharmacy Study Program at UGM, successfully secured Third Place in the Patient Counseling Event (PCE), one of the competition branches at PHARMANOVA ITB 2024/2025.

PHARMANOVA is a national health competition held annually by the Student Association of Pharmacy (HMF) ‘Ars Praeparandi’ at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). This event serves as a collaborative space for pharmacy students to channel ideas, innovations, and solutions in the health sector, as well as a gathering place for students, university students, and the general public with interests in pharmacy and health technology.

With the theme “Exploring Future Technologies for Medicine Outreach and Pharmaceutical Breakthroughs,” PHARMANOVA 2024/2025 featured six competition categories: Health Hackathon, Pharmaceutical Industrial Case Study (PICS), Patient Counseling Event (PCE), Pharmacy Olympiad, Poster Competition, and Drug Packaging Design Competition. In the PCE category, participants were challenged to demonstrate their communication skills and ability to provide accurate, clear, and professional drug counseling to patients.

In this highly competitive event, Alyssa delivered an outstanding performance and secured third place at the national level. This achievement highlights the exceptional quality of UGM Pharmacy students in pharmaceutical communication and patient care services. The Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM expressed its appreciation for this accomplishment and hopes it will inspire other students to continue excelling and bringing honor to UGM both nationally and internationally.

Furthermore, Alyssa’s achievement aligns with the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), by promoting improved healthcare services, strengthening student competencies, and utilizing innovation in pharmaceutical practice.
