The Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Inaugurated 175 New Pharmacists at the Graduation Ceremony and Oath-taking Ceremony for Period III of the 2024/2025 Academic Year

Yogyakarta, September 16, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, once again produced professional health workers by holding the Graduation and Oath-Taking Ceremony for New Pharmacists, Period III Academic Year 2024/2025, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM. In this period, a total of 178 graduates were officially inaugurated as new pharmacists, consisting of 36 men and 139 women. Among them, 173 graduates earned the cum laude distinction, reflecting outstanding and consistent academic quality.

On this occasion, several outstanding graduates received special awards from various pharmaceutical industry partners. Among them were Rizki Ameilia Putri, recipient of the Dexa Award with a GPA of 3.98, achieving the highest CBT score at UGM and ranking second nationally; Esa Agung Nurrohmat, recipient of the Kalbe Award; as well as Maedearanee P. A. and Almanda A. N., recipients of the Novell Awards. In addition, awards were also given through the Pharmacy Awards to graduates with CBT scores above 90 and to those with the highest OSCE scores. These recognitions serve as both appreciation for academic achievements and motivation to continue contributing to the field of pharmacy.

In addition to the Faculty of Pharmacy leadership, the pharmacist oath-taking ceremony was attended by various invited guests, including representatives from the Yogyakarta Health Office, PT Dexa Group, PT Kalbe Farma, PT Novell Pharmaceutical Group, and religious leaders from five different faiths, to ensure the oath-taking procession was carried out solemnly in accordance with each graduate’s beliefs.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., conveyed that the new pharmacists are expected not only to excel academically but also to uphold professional ethics and contribute meaningfully to public health. “UGM pharmacists are expected to be at the forefront in ensuring quality pharmaceutical services, integrity, and patient safety,” he emphasized.

This event is also in line with UGM’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4) through the provision of quality higher education, Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) by producing professional health workers, and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) through collaboration with stakeholders in the health sector and pharmaceutical industry.
