Yogyakarta, January 9, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) officially inaugurated Prof. Dr. apt. Chairun Wiedyaningsih, M.Kes., M.App.Sc. as a Professor in the field of Pharmaceutical Policy. The inauguration ceremony took place at the UGM Senate Hall, attended by distinguished academics, professors, family members, and colleagues of Prof. Chairun. This milestone marks a significant achievement in advancing pharmaceutical education and research in Indonesia.

In her inaugural address, titled “The Strategic Role of Pharmacists in Strengthening Policies for the Safety of Drug Distribution and Use in Society,” Prof. Chairun delivered an insightful discussion on the critical importance of reinforcing policies governing drug distribution and use in Indonesia. Pharmacy UGM – In celebration of its 78th anniversary, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully organized The 6th APN Annual Workshop and Symposium 2024 in collaboration with the Asian Pharmacometrics Network (APN). This event, held from November 20-22, 2024, featured various speakers from diverse backgrounds, including researchers, lecturers, practitioners, and students from across Asia.

With the theme “Pharmacometrics in the Optimization of Drug Development and Clinical Therapy,” this event aimed to optimize drug development and clinical therapy. Pharmacy UGM – A guest lecture titled “Important and Current Findings of Membrane Proteins to Tackle Antimicrobial Resistance”, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), was successfully held on November 15, 2024. This event was part of the Visiting Professor program, featuring Dr. Erwin Lamping, an expert from the University of Otago, who shared the latest findings on ABC transporter research and its role in combating antimicrobial resistance, particularly resistance to fungi. read more

Pharmacy UGM – Monday (11/04), the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM welcomed the arrival of Visiting Professor from the University of Otago, Dr. Erwin Lamping, who will carry out a research and teaching program at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM for a whole month. This program is a collaboration between the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. This event, held in conjunction with the 2024 US-Thai Pharmacy Education Consortium Meeting: 30th Anniversary Commemoration, was hosted by Mahidol University in Thailand. Pharmacy UGM – On Friday, May 31, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a delegation from Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Korea. The esteemed delegation included Daniel Kwon, Jonghyun Lee, and Winston Obert from Daewoong Korea, as well as Dita Ayu Purnamasari from Daewoong Biologics Indonesia.

The primary objective of this visit was to explore potential collaborative opportunities with UGM’s researchers and to benchmark the advanced laboratory facilities of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. Pharmacy UGM – As part of community service activities, lecturers and UGM Faculty of Pharmacy students participated in free health treatment service activities at Lumbini Park, Borobudur Temple, Central Java. The activity was held for 2 days on Saturday-Sunday, 18-19 May 2024 with the number of participants reaching 7 thousand people. This community service was hosted by the Indonesian Buddhist Representative (WALUBI) in the framework of the Tri Suci Waisak 2568 BE/2024 celebration in collaboration with various parties, one of which was the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. read more
