Pharmacy UGM – Friday (April 11, 2025) The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held its Syawalan 1446 H celebration at the 8th floor Auditorium of the APSLC Building. The event, which took place from 08.00 to 10.15 WIB, was attended by members of the academic community, students, alumni, invited guests, institutional partners, and key stakeholders of the faculty.
The program commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by opening remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., who emphasized the significance of Syawalan as a platform to reinforce togetherness. “Syawalan is not merely a tradition; it is a strategic moment to strengthen relationships and foster a collaborative spirit as we work toward building an excellent and globally competitive faculty,” he stated.
The event continued with a tausiyah (Islamic reflection) and prayer delivered by Ust. Dr. H. Fahruddin Faiz, S.Ag., M.Ag., highlighting the theme Strengthening Silaturahmi, Reinforcing Synergy Towards the Glory of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. In his address, he underscored the importance of honest and collaborative communication within the academic community. “Silaturahmi is not only about connecting with others; it is also about creating a healthy and productive ecosystem within the campus environment,” he explained.
The highlight of the event was the reading of the Syawalan Pledge, led by Prof. Dr. apt. Abdul Karim Zulkarnain, S.E., M.Si., symbolizing a collective commitment to uphold harmony, enhance productivity, and strengthen integrity within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
This year’s Syawalan was not only a reflection of religious and cultural values but also aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through its emphasis on collaboration, harmony, and capacity building, the event reaffirms the faculty’s dedication to advancing sustainable and inclusive development in higher education.
