Yogyakarta, May 25th, 2026 — A team of students from the Faculty of Pharmacy has once again achieved a remarkable feat at the national competition titled Industrial Case Competition Hackathon 2026. This competition was organized by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Student Chapter DIY-Central Java and is a prestigious annual event that challenges participants to design strategic solutions to real-world pharmaceutical industry case studies. This year, ISPE adopted the theme “Navigating Real-World Challenges in the Pharmaceutical Industry: Innovation, Quality, and Digital Transformation,” where each team was required to conduct an in-depth analysis and present practical, measurable problem-solving recommendations before the judges comprising pharmaceutical practitioners and academics.
The collaborative team of students from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Sebelas Maret, known as Team 2, consisted of Widha Nur Yuliharjanti, Faqih Fikri N., Azzahra Aurel, Maghfira M. A., and Wanda K. W., successfully claimed first place after presenting a comprehensive solution titled “Medihorison ViSiON 2035 Strategy,” which was a roadmap for the transformation of the sterile injectable pharmaceutical industry from generic products toward the era of digital biotechnology through approaches focused on digitalization, operational efficiency, and global biosimilar expansion, which was deemed the most outstanding by the judging panel. Thanks to this achievement, Team 2 is entitled to an exclusive opportunity in the form of an industrial visit and seminar in Jakarta in June 2026, fully funded by ISPE as a token of appreciation for the team’s national-level achievement.
This proud achievement is certainly a tangible manifestation of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With this achievement, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada directly contributes to SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being through the creative and comprehensive solutions of the Medihorison ViSiON 2035 Strategy, SDG 4 on Quality Education through student participation in Industrial Case Competition Hackathon 2026, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through the transformation of the pharmaceutical industry via biotechnology and biosimilar innovations, digitalization, and operational efficiency, as well as SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals through cross-institutional academic collaboration and partnerships with industry.
