Reinforcing Fellowship and Expressing Love for the Alma Mater, the Class of ’97 Brings Back the 9erobak 7umat 97 Program

Pharmacy UGM – The 9erobak 7umat 97 Program returns on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Pharmacy Faculty UGM Canteen. This program is an initiative by the 1997 Alumni of the UGM Pharmacy Faculty, providing 97 servings of meatballs or 40 servings of rice dishes/soup, along with drinks available at the Pharmacy Faculty UGM Canteen. The program is regularly held every Friday on the third week of each month for the faculty’s lecturers and staff. The 9erobak 7umat program is the original idea of the Class of ’97, who innovated to remain close to their beloved alma mater.

The 1997 Alumni, known as “Kalangan 97,” organizes this program to strengthen internal relationships among Kalangan 97 and maintain communication and collaboration with the Pharmacy UGM. It also aims to revive the spirit of Kalangan 97 on the Pharmacy UGM campus, even though many have long graduated from the faculty. This program is a form of appreciation from Kalangan 97 to the alma mater, which has shaped them into professional pharmacists who work in various sectors such as government institutions, industry, education, professional practices, and entrepreneurship across Indonesia. The 9erobak 7umat program is one of several initiatives by Kalangan 97, alongside others such as the halal bihalal and alumni reunions.

The positive response from lecturers and staff shows high enthusiasm, with many enjoying the meals. This program is expected to continue strengthening the relationship between Kalangan 97 and the academic community at Pharmacy UGM, and become a tradition that inspires collaboration and togetherness in creating a more solid and harmonious campus environment. The program also supports the vendors in the Pharmacy Faculty Canteen as microeconomic drivers in the campus area, thus increasing their income and providing opportunities for survival and future development.

The 9erobak 7umat 97 program indirectly supports the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, by providing nutritious food for the academic community, SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, by strengthening physical health in unity towards a prosperous life, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening partnerships between alumni and the campus. Furthermore, this program also supports SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, by raising awareness of sustainable production and consumption. Through this collaboration, the 9erobak 7umat 97 program serves not only as a means of fellowship but also as a tangible contribution towards achieving broader development goals.
