Yogyakarta, September 3, 2024 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Dean of Graduate School, Faculty of Science, Universiteit Leiden, Professor Erik Danen for an institutional visit aimed at strengthening academic collaboration. The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs, Dr. rer. nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si.
The visit focused on discussions regarding the implementation of the newly established Joint Doctoral Degree Program, which was launched earlier this year. The discussions also included follow-up plans for prospective students who are interested in enrolling in this collaborative academic program between the Faculty of Science at Universiteit Leiden and the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM.
The event was attended by key representatives from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, including the Secretary of the Doctoral Degree Program, Dr. Sylvia Utami Tunjung Pratiwi, M.Si., Apt., the Head of the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology, drh. Retno Murwanti, M.P., Ph.D., and the International Affairs Unit Team of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
This visit is a significant step in the international collaboration efforts between the two institutions, particularly in enhancing the Joint Doctoral Degree Program. This collaboration is expected to offer substantial benefits, including increased opportunities for students to engage in cutting-edge research, access to a broader range of academic resources, and the chance to gain global perspectives in their respective fields.
