Pharmacy Student UGM Won a Third Place in Scientific Essay Category at Pharmacy Champion 2025

Yogyakarta, August 2, 2025 – A Proud achievement was achieved by a student from Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). In this opportunity, Miranda Velda Christabel, a student in the UGM Undergraduate Pharmacy Program, won third place in the scientific essay category at the prestigious Pharmacy Champion (Pharmachamp) 2025 event organized by the Surakarta Ministry of Health Polytechnic.

This national competition, themed “Young Pharmacist Intellectuality for the Acceleration of National Health,” aims to encourage pharmacy students throughout Indonesia to contribute through ideas, creativity, and innovation in the health sector. Pharmachamp 2025 is divided into five competition categories: scientific essay, poster, debate, quiz, and drug packaging design.

The submission period ran from May 15 to July 6, 2025, via Google Form, and attracted hundreds of participants from various universities across Indonesia. This competition served as a platform for competing ideas and demonstrating students’ academic abilities, communication skills, and sensitivity to strategic issues in the fields of pharmacy and public health.

In the scientific essay category, Miranda Velda Christabel’s work secured third place, following Bagus Tri Kuncoro from the Universitas Jember, who won first place, and Kania Wulan Utami from Universitas Jendral Soedirman, who won second place. Miranda’s essay highlighted a current issue in the world of pharmacy, presented applicable solutions and strong scientific arguments, earning her praise from the panel of judges.

This success is not only an individual achievement, but also underscores the commitment of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to supporting the development of student potential through both academic and non-academic activities. Miranda’s achievement aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of public health, and SDG 4: Quality Education, which encourages access to quality education for the younger generation.

Through this active participation and achievements in various competitions, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), is committed to continuously producing graduates who are superior, innovative, and adaptable to scientific developments and global health challenges. With this same spirit, pharmacy students are expected to be the driving force behind realizing sustainable health development in Indonesia.
