Tisha Rafa Amelia, an undergraduate pharmacy student class of 2024, achieved outstanding success at the 7th International Youth Innovation Summit (IYIS), held from January 20 to 23, 2025, across Singapore and Malaysia.

IYIS is a prestigious global youth program that combines volunteering activities with an innovation competition. Organized by the non-governmental organization Global Youthpreneur Nusantara (GYN), the event aims to foster innovation among students and young people. The summit featured various activities, including the IYIS Youth Project SDGs Presentation, Awarding Delegates, City and University Tours, and the Malaysia Cultural Exchange Show.

The highlight of the summit was the IYIS Youth Project SDGs Presentation, where Tisha and her team showcased their groundbreaking project, MedTrip—an application that integrates healthcare services with the tourism sector. Designed to assist medical tourists and travelers with health conditions, MedTrip ensures easy access to healthcare services during their journeys. The project received special recognition from the judges for its significant contribution to advancing sustainable development goals in the healthcare sector.

The IYIS events were held at iconic locations, beginning with a campus tour at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Delegates then participated in the Malaysia Cultural Exchange Show at the Malaysia Tourism Center (MATIC), followed by project presentations and the award ceremony at the International Youth Center (IYC) in Malaysia. The summit concluded with visits to Universiti Malaya and Balai Seni Negara Malaysia.

Tisha and her team secured remarkable achievements, winning 1st Place for Best Presentation and 2nd Place for Best Project Innovation. These awards reflect the team’s dedication to creating impactful and sustainable innovations. In addition to the accolades, the team received valuable feedback from the judges for the future development of MedTrip.

This success highlights the commitment of UGM Pharmacy students to fostering socially impactful and sustainable innovations.
